Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1943. They began as a small machine shop initially hiring 4 individuals. Product sales for their first year of operation totaled 60 thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless steel pipe fittings, valves and various parts. During five years of operation, the company had stretched to 40 workers and their yearly sales volume had risen to $330,000. Nowadays, Cascade is among the leading global makers within the material handling industry.
Production and design of the company's very first hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive quest of better business possibilities. Over the last sixty years, the material handling trade has developed into a highly advanced field and Cascade has proudly performed a part in this growth. Cascade presently continues to develop as the best provider of forklift attachments and different related items. The business feels confident in their potential so as to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding buyer's requirements in the future and remaining competitive within the global market.
Throughout the 1950's, Cascade started to fabricate, design, and promote its hydraulic attachments. A new facility was built in the year 1956, to house all plant operations and offices in Portland, Oregon, which is still the company's current center of operations. After fifteen years of business, total employees reached a hundred and eighty staff and sales had reached almost two million three hundred thousand dollars.
The next production plant was built in 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's preliminary transfer into the international world of the material handling industry as the business recognized interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
The company altered its name to Cascade Corporation in 1964. In the year 1965, Cascade went public with a preliminary offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. The company has expanded its production plants throughout the United States with areas in Warner Robins, Georgia, Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade products are made worldwide due to a lot of subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new facility was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European control center. This facility is built to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Continuing to grow, Cascade expanded their product offering further in 1996 and 1997 with the impressive acquisition of five firms, including the international best in forks, the Kenhar Corporation.
